Catarina Demony (Lisbon, 1992) moved to the USA when she was 16 and then moved to London, where she graduated in journalism. She worked in communication for various NGOs, launched a project to tell the stories of Portuguese speakers, edited a platform for young journalists, and later took a master's degree in global conflict. After her master's, she dedicated herself to local journalism in the UK until she became a correspondent for Reuters. She is also the executive producer of "Under the Carpet", a documentary about her ancestors' involvement in the transatlantic slave trade.
